Forum Index > Washer Repair

Forget the bells and whistles - just give me a reliable machine that cleans my clothes.   I also want a machine that is user friendly when it comes to repair.
Any suggestions?  P.S.  I don't trust Whirlpool, Kenmore or Maytag - too many consumer complaints!

Hi bespiritfilled,

I have a old Maytag washer myself. It's from the days when Maytag knew how to make good washer. :)
If I were to buy a new one today I would go with a Whirlpool direct drive.

A direct drive as you may already know is like your kenmore you sent me a PM about.

Your kenmore was made by whirpool for sears. Whirlpool also owns Maytag now so any washer you buy now that say's Maytag on it will be made by whirlpool.

The whirlpool direct drive machines are very easy to work on compared to any other brand.
The direct drive has been around for 20 years or more and you can get parts just about anyplace.

Unlike LG made washers.

Yes go with the Whirlpool made top load Direct Drive and the brands they make like Roper, Estate, Inglis, Kenmore ( but have to deal with Sears..ugg) Kitchenaid, and now the Maytag brands like Maytag, Admiral, Amana etc....go to Lowes and look at them, open the lids, you will see they are the same washers now, and as you know, simpler is better... ;)

Did you get a new washer yet?
If so what kind did you decide to buy?
