« on: August 31, 2011, 05:48:33 PM »

Before I tear this thing apart and order parts, it's not heating up properly, theres heat but not much and takes 2 90 min. cycles to dry, is it the element or thermostat? and how to check each one, thanks in advance.

On that particular dryer the blower wheel hub gets loose. The result is longer time to dry the clothes and dryer overheating. The blower wheel has a small horseshoe clip that requires snap ring pliers. It also has a squeeze clamp. Pop the top and remove the front. Get the drum out and oil the rollers and idler. It is best ti work from a bench or tailgate when wrangling that belt back on. Click on pics to enlarge.

Also make sure your exhaust duct is straight and clean with good air flow.

Thanks as always, fortunately don't have to repace the wheel or any parts, had a clog. Fixed the slow filling washer to boot (clogged cold water hose screen), the wife was happy.
