kenmore front load washer
« on: February 28, 2010, 02:52:48 PM »

Hello,  I just replaced the bellows, the old one was shredded, I think my shock absorbers might also be worn?? The drum sits very low when filled with clothes and water. Now there are small tiny flecks of rubber clinging to the bellows, almost as if its rubbing some where. I just want to avoid damaging the new bellows and just throw my $$ away. If anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it!!! The washer is about 8-10 years old.

Thanks a bunch

I raise the front of the unit very little so the tub does not rub against the bellows.

Those shocks need to be replaced every 4-5 years as a rule. Betcha they didn't tell ya that at Sears   :)

You've got far worse problems that that, amigo. Your po' little spinner basket assembly needs to be replaced. How do your spin bearings sound when the tub is going to town?

I agree with repairman as you most likely have got some bigger issues.  I have seen those spindles and bearings fail to the point were the inner tub has destroyed the bellow, and outer tub assy.  Grab a hold of the inner tub by the baffles and if you have alot of play up and down, or front to back, you should get your shoes on and head down and pick out a new washer.
