dryer not advancing

Dryer comes on,heats but timer does not move.It will not advance in any cycle.How do you check this out?Is there a way to test the timer?

First take your voltmeter and check the 2 black wires at the 2 terminals from the timer motor when the dryer is in the Timed Dry mode (running). If you do not read 120 volts, the Electronic Control board in the back of the control panel is bad. If you can read 120 volts, the timer is bad.

With any luck you can simply remove the board and clean the contacts on it. Making sure their is a good connection between the board and the socket.
