Dishwasher does not fill with any water.
The first thing to check on any dishwasher that does not fill with water is the float inside the dishwasher. All dishwasher fill on a timed fill cycle, but the float is there as a safety device.
If the timer would get stuck in the fill cycle the water in the tub would raise the float and turn the water valve off.
Lots of times things will get under the float, such as silverware or a wheel from one of the dish racks. The float can also get lifted up by the action of the water when it's washing and get stuck in the up position because of soap build-up under the float.
When I looked inside the dishwasher I did not see anything under the float.
Just to be sure it was not stuck in the up position keeping the dishwasher from filling I grabbed a hold of it with my hand and made sure it could move up and down freely.
Once I determined the float was ok it was time to get out the meter.
I checked the coil on the water valve and it was open meaning it was bad and needed to be replaced.
Replacing the water valve is a cheap and easy repair. Once the water valve was replace the dishwasher filled with water and worked great through the rest of the cycle.
