Poor Refrigeration Temperatures

Model/Serial Numbers:
Frigidaire 12 Cubic Foot Top Mount FRT124 With Serial Numbers Beginning With RA

Frost build-up on Evaporator causing poor refrigeration temperatures

Defrost Thermostat short cycling.

Replace and relocate the defrost thermostat, install air deflector and raise the heating element.  Position the defrost thermostat at the location shown below.
For Canadian Market Only:
1. The replacement thermostat is part # 401769-1010. 
Follow Steps 2 and 3 below.

For All Other Markets:

1. The replacement thermostat is part # 5303917954 icon.
2. Install Styrofoam deflector part # 240518402 (Cut to Fit) in order to deflect more heat from the defrost heater to the upper portion of the evaporator coil.
3. Raise-up the defrost heater closer to the evaporator to ensure a more direct heat source. Please review the illustration for the defrost thermostat and Styrofoam block locations.
