Samsung DW80F600 Arm Hitting Door (photos)
« on: February 02, 2017, 07:11:35 AM »

Our Samsung DW80F600 dishwasher has not been cleaning the greatest lately.  Plenty of pressure as when I open the door it sprays water everywhere if I open it too fast.  However I noticed that everytime I open the door the bottom sweep arm is in the same place.  Looking closer I see that the arm is rubbing and apparently getting stuck on the door.  Photo below shows the marks from it rubbing.  Click the image to see it at a larger size:

Any idea how or why this would happen?  Better question, how do I fix it?  It's three years old and out of warranty, so for a moment I actually considered striking that spot with a hammer lightly to try to push it in enough to allow the arm to pass. Either that or taking a file and shaving off just the very tip of the arm.  Hopefully someone here has a less brute force method of fixing it.  Any ideas?

Hi there,

I see that there is no answer to your problem here , but I was wondering if you may have found a solution else where?
I am having the same problem with my dishwasher.
Thank you

No solution so far.  I tried shaving off the tip of the swing arms with a file.  Too scared to go much farther with that idea.  Almost ready to intentionally dent the door a bit.  If anyone has an idea of what might be the cause of this please let me/us know.  Very annoying.

None.  I did actually try denting the door just a bit by putting a piece of wood over the spot then hitting that rather than hitting the door directly with the hammer.  It still is rubbing.  I may try doing a little more to see what happens, just scared to do too much with it for fear of causing a leak at the bottom of the door.
