My 14-year old Kitchenmaid is making a clicking noise, the lights dim, and then ten seconds later it clicks again and the lights come back up. This happens every few minutes. Elsewhere on the forum I read that it may be the compressor relay. My repairman is a week out - should I leave the unit running or shut it down until the repairman can get here? The fridge temp is at 50 degrees and the freezer is a bit warm as well.

Any advice is appreciated!

Some of the older Kitchen Aid built ins had a bad control board. Replacement kit available as the original one is discontinued. Call kitchen aid with your model and serial to see if yours is effected. Symptoms are no cool and clicking or whining.
