I am trying to replace a very bad thermostat with a Honeywell RTH2510 for easier use.  The furnace is a RUUD Achiever 90 "with Contour Comfort Control".  The current wiring furnace to thermostat is the following:

Current Thermostat > Wire Color >Furnace Terminal Code > New Thermostat (B,O,G,Y,W/AUX,R,RC)

Y2
24V > Bridge
24V(C) > Black > C > ?
G > Green > G > G
Y1 > Yellow > Y >G
W > White > W > W/AUX
R > Bridge/Red > R
SG
SR
W2
V > Brown > V/W2 > ?
SO

I am unclear where to attach the Black and Brown wires?  Or maybe this new Honeywell thermostat cannot be used?  From what I have read so far maybe the brown wire is for a 2nd stage?  The honeywell may not be compatible?

Apparently the Ruud Achiever 90 furnace is a modulating furnace requiring a modulating thermostat.  Any ideas what low end thermostat can be used.  The only one I've found so far is the Rheem 400 series costing over $300.
