whirlpool vmw wtw4715ew1    anybody know the trick to install the shield on the basket under the agitator. I can only get three of the four pins to lock in.   thanks.

I think you are talking about the cam or splutch. It can only go in one way as it has off set clips. A recent one I had to push in and twist so a new design. I've never had a problem getting them in. Be sure you have the cam part in correctly but I think that is also only meant to go in one way. Be sure to use some blue loktite on the nut if you are reusing the same nut.

dab has it right    the ring snaps into the the bottom of the basket with four pins molded into the ring. the pins are angled outward slightly so that it locks  into the basket. this is a beauty parlor and they got a plastic apron stuck under the agitator. and when they pulled it out they pulled up this ring
