Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8240YW0 - Leaking Water Question
« on: November 17, 2014, 11:25:27 AM »

Customer said that the Washer leaks when filling with water at beginning of Wash Cycle (not during the Rinse Cycle).
Therefore, I noticed water dripping where the hose attached to the Detergent Dispenser so I replaced it.
However, customer called back a month later stating that it's still leaking.
I was wondering if it could be the Tub Ring (detergent hole not big enough).
When I return, I will need to remove the rear panel to see where it's leaking.
Has anyone come across this type of issue or is there a Service Bulletin for this Model?

Never mind, I found the Service Pointer Bulletin (attached) and it's the Bleach Dispenser causing the water leak issue when filling during the Wash Cycle.

Wow, this old post saved me...looks like it's been slowly leaking for years...it was rusty all around that module!!
We didn't really notice until we had more kids and started doing more laundry...then seeing water pooling at the bottom.

I just drilled an extra drain hole exactly as shown in the image. Works perfect now. No more water leaks! Thank you!!
