Maytag Bravo XL - leaking black/brown fluid
« on: March 10, 2014, 09:30:41 AM »

I have a Maytag Bravo XL 850 which I have had a few years now. It has gotten good use and performed well - until now. The washer still washes clothes well recently I noticed some black/brown fluid spray from under the washer. I moved the washer and saw that the black/brown fluid was sprayed in a circulat pattern underneath the white plastic part of the drum. I tilted the washer and looked under it but could not find the source of the leak. Has anyone ever seen this on the Bravo XL and know what to do/replace on it? If it is a replacement part, how difficult? Thanks.

The tub seal has a leak. Time for a tub bearing replacement.  You will need part number W10435302. It's a complete kit. You will need the installation tool as well. Number W10447783.

Can it still be used and how long until it is completely done? Just asking so I know the urgency of getting the part here and installed.
