I have a Kitchenaid KESC300BWH6 serial #IMG1831650.
For a couple of years the cancel button has only worked about 5% of the time.
We have developed a workaround, for example if the oven is on and we want to cancel it, we set the bake time to zero, and it goes off.
But now there have been 2 times when the oven has come on by itself.
This has happened when we were using the cooktop, but not the oven.
So the range was hot.
Both times we were not touching the range at the time, but we heard the oven relay click on, the display indicated that the oven was on, and the oven got hot.
We tried the cancel button, but that did not work.
We tried the workaround (set bake time to zero) but that did not work either.
So we turned the range off at the breaker panel and heard the oven relay click off.
We turned the breaker back on, and the oven stayed off.
By the way, we never use Sabbath mode, and never saw "SAbb" on the display.
Also we have never seen an error code.
I see the touchpad panel is no longer available, but a rebuilt circuit board is available.
Is there any way to find out if the problem is in the touchpad panel or in the circuit board?
I have successfully done a membrane continuity check using a multimeter on another range.
So I know how to do that, but I would need a pin number test guide.
Can anyone help me with this?
