Lg Dryer DLE6942
« on: June 01, 2012, 05:56:57 PM »

Hello there,
I recently discovered my heating element burned out in my LG DLE6942 dryer.  I am just trying to remove the back to replace it, could anyone possibly post a guide as to how to do t his.  So far I've removed pretty much every screw and just can't seem to get the back off.  Any point in the right direction would be helpful.

If you haven't been able to get into the unit yet then you can't know that the element is bad. Could be a tripped high limit t-stat, one of the cycling t-stats, the main computer or wiring.

You access the inside the unit from the front: Take the top off, unplug and remove the display assmy., remove the front panel, remove the roller panel in the front of the drum, undo the belt from the motor and idler pulley ( but do not take it off the drum), remove the support bracket that the display assmy was attached to and remove the drum by lifting it with the belt and one hand on the front. Now you will have access to the element and all it's accompanying parts.
