Title: LG No water Model LFX25971ST
Post by: schleven on August 08, 2013, 06:21:21 PM
This is a bottom freezer model with the icemaker in the door.  It makes ice, but it will not dispense water.  It only has a single solenoid valve on the back of the unit.  I didnt want to start pulling it apart without knowing what to look for.

When I press for water, I can hear what sounds like the rear solenoid energizing.  I assume the other valve is in the door somewhere.

Any ideas on what to look for?

Thanks

Open left door and you will find a white cover with a screw under the lowest bin after removal. Remove screw and put a putty knife on right side to pop out the molded pin. Ohm check the solenoid and check for voltage. be sure to tape the switch closed and that the display lock is NOT on.... O0 O0

Awesome. Thanks very much.  I didnt even see that panel behind the bin in the door.  I just went back, luckily he is close by, and opened it up.  The water valve is bad.

I really appreciate all the tips and solutions you offer on this site.
