Magic Chef stove question

Yesterday I came across a Magic Chef stove which I feel had a very unique feature. No safety valve or glowbar. It has a replaceable 60 inch thermocouple that mounts directly into the oven control itself. To light it you simply push in on the oven control and light the pilot. Like you would any other valve that has a thermocoulple, you wait a minute till the bulb heats up enough to hold the pilot. I was wondering had anybody else seen this setup? The stove has standing pilots. No power is required and it has no power cord. I might add this stove was fairly new and looked like it was rarely used.

There are a lot of them out there,the most common problem was on LP gas the thermocouple would split open.

Sorry it got dark on us and was unable to get the model. Standard 30 in stove though. Nothing special about it except the thermocouple mounted in the oven control. I would not mind having one. They could probably solve that splitting issue by swapping the pilot orifice out.


Larry brought 3 stoves over here yesterday in hopes of getting one of them operational. One needed a glowbar, the other has a leak. The 3rd one we simply didn't know why the pilot would not light until I noticed the thermocouple.
