Whirpool Duet GHW9250ML1 - won't drain
« on: May 01, 2012, 08:31:32 PM »
I have a whirlpool Duet washer GHW9250ML1 that won't drain.

I get the "sud" error then the F02.

I have removed all hoses and checked for blockages and kinks... none

I checked the drain trap... nothing.

It pump would click but not engage.

I then replaced the drain pump.

The new drain pump installed and  now nothing, no clicks.

I found the Diagnostic Test Mode and ran it..  It did fine until the Drain pump sequence, so i'm wondering is the new drain pump faulty or is it something else, maybe the CCU?

Now i'm going to get a voltmeter and that the individual components.

Until i get that done, can anyone tell me if they have had the same situation?  and what was the solution.

Any help would be appreciated.

I hate to pay a high repair bill when i'm capable of doing the repair.  I just need to know what repair i need to make.

Angela

Sounds to me like you have an item between tubs. The motor will overamp and ACT like it has a suds situation.

How would i go about finding out if this is the case?  Is there any easy way to do this, or a full dismantle needed?

Intially I believe that was an issue but we have filled and manually drained the washer several times with no clothes or adding of detergent since the inital error trouble shooting the issue.

try using washer magic, or some washer cleaner through normal cycle with hot water, to clean er out!!! O0 The
Motor Control Unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on the drive motor. If "Sud" is displayed a potential Suds Lock is detected. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds.
