Maytag dryer making a grinding noise on front end. Took apart, and looks like a couple of pads that the drum rides on are maybe shot. No noise when dryer is empty, running. Load it with close and it will drive you nuts. Are those copper colored pads the problem?

Yep, thats your problem, you need a rivet gun to replace.  1st you will need to drill out old rivets.

What are the rivets that need to be drilled out? The part I was looking at is kind of flexible and just pops out.

Are you talking about these drum glides ?

I don't think this style drum glide is held in place with two rivets like on some of the other Maytag dryers.

Those are the parts I was looking at. Is there anything else you would reccomend changing while I am into it?

I would look at the belt part # 40111201
and drum support rollers part# 37001042


Check the belt for any wear and tear. Look at the rollers and spin them by hand to make sure they aren't noisy.

The inner door seal appears to be a couple of inches short after it came off while thaking the dryer front off. The seal is not a continuous loop. Are the new seals continuous, or do I need to glue this on?

If this is the part you are talking about it looks like it has a seam that may just be glued together.

I would just glue the old one in place with a little high temp adhesive.
