Whirlpool Cabrio F 71 Error Over Suds

I got a Whirlpool Cabrio in.  It's throwing an F 71 error.  According to the tech sheet, there is either too much detergent being used (There was no detergent added so that's ruled out.)  , or the tech sheet also mentions mechanical friction.  I can manual turn the motor from below.  It doesn't seem to have any more friction than normal. 


Do any of you guys have any other suggestions of what I should look into?  All the other Cabrios that I've worked had obvious bad bearings or related errors.

I would check pump 1st, make sure its free of lint & coins

I found a dime stuck right before entering the recirculation pump.  but now I'm getting an F72 error (basket re-engaging error).  Also I found a crack on the plastic on the stator motor.  I'm assuming I need to replace the motor.  The basket doesn't appear to be floating.  Could this crack in the motor be causing this error?

That stator assy. looks like theres evidence of a leak going on, the tub bearing maybe starting to seize up which can cause the F71 error code.  If the basket doesn't float it may be stuck onto the motor shaft due the the rust or excess soap residue.  You'll probably have to pull apart the tub/basket assy for a closer look.

Yeah, I was also wondering about that bearing.  The Cabrios that I had to fix bearings on so far were extremely obvious that the bearing were bad. 

I took this washer completely apart.  The shaft didn't look too bad, but I had the most difficult time putting the basket and agitator back on this one.   

I was kind of wanting to put a bearing in since I haven't done a bearing replacement on a Cabrio since I found out about the bearing kit that Whirlpool now makes.  But on the same token, I don't want to put too much money into it since I'm reselling it.

After sitting on this a while, I bought a new motor, bearing, and the bearing press tool.  I installed the new bearing, I'm getting no error codes yet it still won't spin.  In spin cycle the drain pump just sits there draining forever.  Any clues what else could be causing the issue?  I'm about ready to go Postal here!

Also how soon are you suppose to be able to wash clothes after the bearings have been changed?  Just wonder how long that adhesive is suppose to dry.
