I really hope someone can help me!! My washing machine will not go through cycles and when you manually turn the dial to spin it will not spin. We ordered the repair kit that came with the r11, q6 and wax motor. We replaced the wax motor and when we looked at the circuit board q6 and r11 looked fine, but q3 was burned. We replaced q3 but it's still doing the same thing. Any ideas? Thank you SO much!!!!

Hi Mudd222,

I have never had much luck trying to repair the neptune control boards.
If you can see that the board has been damaged I think the best option is to replace the board with a new one.

When we first tried repairing the board like you have done I would say 50% of them never worked.
The other half that we did get repaired would end up going bad down the road in a couple months again.

One more question. The q3 had to have burned up for a reason (I would think anyway). Do you think it's strictly a control board replacement that we need, or do you think there's something more going on? I would hate to buy a new control board and have that one burn up because of an underlying problem elsewhere. Thanks!

The Q3 I believe is related to the timer motor. Maybe our AJ Team member "Repair-man" can add some more info to the topic after he reads this. He worked for maytag for many years and is the expert on them.

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering...whether or not we need to replace the timer or something.
Thanks again so much. I really appreciate your input :)

Neptune Resistors, etc...and so forth

AJ is right...repairing the board can be a lesson in futility. The resisitor chart provided to me while at Maytag only mentions a few key spots that are repairable. I've provided the sheet for you below. If you replace the board, things will be better and you can start using the machine again. The timer motor is controlled thru R-52, as noted below. Click on the chart below attached below.
Good luck!

Thanks Repair-Man :) I guess it looks like we are just going to have to spend the money and buy a new board. This sucks >:(  But I really appreciate you and AJ helping me out!! :) This is a great site O0

A good idea to put a 1000 joule surge protector on the electrical outlet to prevent power surges from blowing out the fragile triacs on the control board.
