Extremely noisy washer

Why is our Amana washing machine model number NAV5805AWW noisy in the spin cycle.

Tip the washer back and remove the belt. (No tools required). Give the pump a twist and look for signs of separation. On these sometimes the pump bearing will go out and the pump never leak.

The pump turns hard, i don't see anything caught in it. Guess I need a new pump?

Yep> Common failure on these washers. I suppose it is because the pump is working in both directions for the entire wash cycle on each load.

This is a common problem that I see often with this type of washer.

Redesigned - no mounting plate - pump mounts directly to base of the washer.

Your model washer uses Drain Pump Part # 35-6780
