three year old dishwasher flashing E R

My dishwasher will fill with water and then start flashing E R with Sanitize, Clean, Drying and Low flashing too.
It's about three years old and a frigidaire model number PLD3465REC0

A friend of mine that is a auto mechanic thinks the control board is bad. Do you think that is true?

Your mechanic is correct. This is a control board failure.
