whrilpool waher noisy

I have a whirlpool washer top loader. that is very noisy in the spin cycle (unbalanced). when it stops spinning there is a loud thump. any ideas?

depends on model, noisy washers can be anything from bearing and tub seal, to an unbalanced washer. Does it have a auto leveling feature? And if the tub is loose(free from springs or centering rubber straps) then when the brake engages it could be forcing the tub into the shell. Would need model number atleast...sometimes audio and an image helps to figure it out on here
