Corrosion Protection on Washing Machines

While working on my Maytag washer, I of course encountered corrosion at edges that can cause stains on the clothes.  Is there a good product to inhibit the corrosion and protect clothes from stains?

AJ:
The edges of the tub are rusting?

endresrk:
The edges of the lid are corroding.

AJ:
Nothing I can think of, sorry..
