GE Washer model GTWP225OD0WW doesn't advance
« on: September 28, 2016, 08:08:30 PM »
Washer will fill, wash and spin but won't move from one cycle to another, have to move timer knob manually. The controller has been replaced. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ed.

When you say controller do you mean a new timer?  or control board.  Going to look it up but need to know what you mean by controller. :thanks:

If I am seeing the right things here, you have a electronic control board, and the knob is just a selector switch.  They don't move around like the old units with timers did.  If it going through all the cycles, there should be indicator lights that move or tell you if its in fill, wash, spin and drain.   GTWP225OD0WW

Yes the electronic control board has been replaced and if I move the knob around it does all the functions.

Ok you will have to clarify what you mean by cycle.  You said it , fills, washes (agitates) {it has to drain } to spin.  That is where you stopped in your comments

Then it should fill again and rinse (agitate), drain, and spin, ie final spin and be done.

is the washer stopping before the final spin at some point.

there are five lights above the selector knob that tell you what stage (cycle its in)

The BIG knob does not move on this model, its not a timer has no moving motor.
