Noisy Fisher and Paykel Smartload dryer Model #DEGX2-96102-A

Ordered a fan for this last night assuming the noise vibration was coming from it. I was wrong. The jockey pulley assembly is the issue. Watch the video:

Can't believe how EASY and simple these machines are to tear down. This was my first one and I was amazed. Parts are very costly though. Here is the part I need:

They do look very intimidating but they are so simple to work on. Two screws and one wire to disconnect removes the whole top. Front panel two screws. Then the whole inside frame tilts all the way out and lays down to access everything. Even a caveman can do it. Lol!

Yeah, they are not bad once you know what to do.  They can be a pain in narrow hallways, as they need double the floor footprint.

I had one that was clicking last year.  Turned out it was the lint screen holder popping in and out, as the drum turned around.  That was a fun one to figure out.

The drum moves both ways, so be careful you don't get it going in the wrong direction with the drum opened up.  It will tear that little sliding stainless piece right off, bend it, and break all the plastic connectors.

The first time you walk in on one of these, you ask yourself "do I really want to mess with this?" But, these are not that bad to work on. Probably half of the noisy calls on these dryers turn out to be lint in the blower. You can clear it by going in thru the vent pipe.
