Just under 5 years old, I love the high speed extended spin to extract water.  O0

No led blinking on the inverter/motor.

Using Shawn`s tutorials:
-Fuse in harness meters ok
-Lid switch meters ok
-Took off hose on water level, fairly clean, can hear sensor click when sux/blow in it.
-Wires to Washer Shaft & Mode Shifter Assembly checks out at 93 ohms.
-Tried to no avail resetting inverter board opening/closing lid
-12vdc present on far right motor connector 3-4-5 terminals during suppose to spin up.

I have the red label 175d5106g015 motor part that can take out the Washer Shaft & Mode Shifter Assembly and I am infamous for opening the lid to let things soak or adjust water levels (I didn`t know there was a problem till now)

What do? Throw in a new WH20X10058 motor/inverter and strip out the harness fuse and if it still doesn`t work right get a new shifter assembly?

Thanks.

Troutman, thanks for the reply. I`m confused though, I thought the 12 vdc to the shift assembly during the spin cycle of the  Drain and Spin Cycle would be a good thing and an indication the asm board might be working correctly. It fills like it should and pumps out like it should, more indications of a functioning asm board.

I can check further at the 4 connectors to the motor/inverter if people can suggest what voltage to check for?

Distant relative on vacation dropped by... he`s been doing it 30 years for Sears.  He got 120v to the motor still no flashing green light. He said if he had his truck with him he would be trying a new motor next. (On vacation, far from home, no truck, not much more he can do) :)

I found a used 2008 wh20x10058 from a guy locally parts out machines for $60. Should I go for it or order something new for m o r e?

Should I expect the used  motor to have new style red blinking light or old style green blinking light?

Thoughts?

Tks.

As a professional I never install used parts, but as a DIY'er that's up to you.

How much did the local guy want for a new one?

Here is the new motor at our two parts affiliates.

AJ, as far as I know it`s a home business and the local guy doesn`t sell  new parts, he just parts out machines he doesn`t want to repair and sells used machines.
~~
I can find wh20x10058 motor/inverter new at local appliance parts stores and ebay $95 to $250. What no one can tell me is if the new motor/inverter have the redesigned inverter drip cap and red LED OR the old style drip cap and green LED.

Should I be looking for the new style or settle with the old style or it doesn`t matter as long as the motor I get says wh20x10058 on the box?

And WH20X10034 WH20X10037 WH20X10041 WH20X10045 WH20X10052 all work in my washer but have software that might damage my shifter coil under certain conditions?

If you order the wh20x10058 from either of the two parts links I posted above you will be getting the correct motor for your model washer and helping support our site as this topic explains.

With that being said GE is a brand I don't have much experience with so I can't really tell you what color LED the new motor is going to have.

Maybe another tech knows more about the color of the LED.

Update: I finally purchased a new, boxed wh20x10058 motor. It has the red blinking light, a redesigned inverter cap, and a bag with a wire to replace the harness fuse and if I remember correctly a yellow sticker with the number 175d5106g045?.

I did a load, works fine and I learned something.

Next I`ll take the old inverter cap off and see if there is a blown electronic component on the board to replace for the fun of it but at least now the Mrs. is off my case.
