I have had a LG
DLG8388 dryer for quite a while and haven't had any problems with it until recently. Over the past few months there have been times that I am not getting any heat during the dry cycle and it seems to be happening more frequently now. I've cleaned the vent pipe and put a vacuum cleaner hose in the exhaust outlet at the back.
I don't see anything obvious when going through the diagnostics (other than heat not going on when it's supposed to). I'm speculating that it's either the valve or possibly the igniter. Is it possible that an igniter is intermittently working? i.e. not getting hot enough all the time Or more likely that the valve is getting weak.
Any recommendations on determining the cause prior to opening the dryer up or what else the problem might be would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Richard
