Help with Kenmore washer?

I have a Kenmore Washer Type 111.
I went downstairs to find it still full of water , Ive been looking online for help to find out what the problem is, But i cant seem to find a definetive answer. It will Fill up with water but it will not drain or spin, when i close the lid when i put it in spin cycle i hear it trying to spin but it doesn't. I emptied out the water by hand because i thought maybe it was just too heavy but to no avail still does not spin or drain?
Ive seen stuff online saying it could be the Lid switch(seen alot of sites this being the main problem), or it could be the moter or the pump is clogged.
Is there a definetive way to find out what is the problem? I dont have alot of money to fix it, so im hoping for cheaper repair cost, which is why i cant hire a professional to come look at it.
I would appreciate any and all help.

You probably have something clogging your pump. You will have to open up the cabinet and unhook the hoses to see whats going on.

If you have a clogged pump lower the drain hose to the floor and water should not come out. Be ready in case it does come out. Check your lid switch. It might be bad. This video shows how to bypass it:

Ill try the pump tomorrow and see how things go from there i got work tomorrow so gotta get some sleep, Thanks for the help, ill reply whether it works or not  .
