I have a Maytag Centennial TL Washer (Model#
MTW5600TQ1) that will fill with water then agitate but it "won't drain or spin and the Drive Motor just hums". I removed the Drive Motor (from the pump & transmission shaft) and the Motor shaft doesn't spin (it just hums during Spin Mode). I don't hear the Timer running/ticking during Spin Mode. Therefore, if the Motor works fine during Agitation could it be the 'Timer' or 'Capacitor'. I discharged the Capacitor by touching both terminal pins with flat blade screwdriver and the needle on my Analog Meter moved to the right (0 Ohms on the RX1 Setting) but didn't move back to the left side. The Service Manual (P/N
8178628) doesn't give much information on how to test the Timer and I also have a Digital Multimeter.
