GE Profile pss26sgpa diagnostic mode?

I have a GE Profile PSS26SGPA side by side refrigerator freezer that is freezing items in the custom cool and crisper drawers.  From my reading, it looks like the damper door is the usual culprit.  I have seen mention of a diagnostic mode on other GE fridges that would allow you to confirm the faulty part, but haven't been able to find a means to get into diagnostics on this particular model.  Does anyone have that information available?
In looking at the parts, I see part #AP3140379 and part #AP3184950.  Assuming the damper door is the issue, do you replace both of these items?
