Newbie needs help wiring Trane TCONT802AS32DAA

I just replaced a White Rogers electronic thermostat with a Trane XL802. The guy I bought it from (ebay) said it was identical to the Honeywell Visionpro and would wire up the same way.
I downloaded the install instr for the Honeywell and it looked pretty straightforward so I ordered the Trane (which is supposed to be a re-branded Honeywell).
Well as luck would have it the base plates of the Honeywell and Trane are different and so are the wiring blocks and codes on those blocks.
I tried following the instructions on the Trane but they are far more complex than the Honeywell instructions.
I did the best I could and heat is working but not cool...
I have attached pics of the original thermo base (note the jumper bet RC and RH)... the fours wires are, red, green, white, yellow and the way its now wired to the new thermo base.

any help would be appreciated (It appears to be one pic per post so I will attach pics shortly)

The 1st pic has the white wire going to W the 2nd pic has it attached to O. I don't know if that could make a diff. What you got? A single stage heatpump?

Its a Sears Kenmore mid eff natural gas furnace with a/c

that terminal is actually labelled W1 on the inside of the block and O on the outside (left page of my last attachment)...not sure what thats all about???

Gas heat needs a slower fan speed than AC which needs a a higher rate of speed. Electric heat needs to have full speed fan as soon as the thermostat is fired off. Heatpumps need extra terminals for reversing solenoid and defrost cycles. Your thermostat must therefore be set up to operate for gas heat and central ac. Why is you putting that fancy thermostat up there if yall have a plain jane gas furnace with central heat?

I am familiar with that Tstat. it does appear to be wired properly. The only question is the W1/O terminal on the left and W1 on the right. Of those terminals one will run 1heat 1cool which is what you want and the other is for staging heat pump. You will need to go to the setup process to make that stat know what sytem to operate. To get to the setup function press the system button once then at the bottom press the 2nd and 4th key hold and hold til screen changes. for a gas furnace w/ a/c your setup will follow;function then setting,  0120=20, 
0130=12
0140= month digit
0150= day digit
0170=1
0180=0
0220=3
0240=5
0280=0
0300=0
0320=0
0330=2
0340=0
and if you want to use the a/c as a dehumidifier.
0380=1 otherwise use 0 to turn this function off
0500=0

press done to exit and the t-stat should be programmed for 1heat 1cool or gas w/ air conditioning. hope this helps

Just noticed you may have the wrong honeywell manual you may want to look up the manual for th TH8320 honeywell Thermostat. This might clear the water so to speek.
