We used to have access to all of Whirlpool's and Maytag's Service Manuals, Tech Sheets, and Service Bulletins. That is until a year or two ago. Now Whirlpool makes us pay $500/year to access this stuff! I'm thinking of getting together with a bunch of friends and family in the industry, and sharing the expense.
In hind sight, it does make sense the the user interface can cause this, as the interface must tell the control board what cycle and temp you want it to run at.
I'm sure that your headache will prevent one of my own in the future. Hopefully we can all return the favor with some other problem you solve here.
