Boot replacement Maytag Neptune MAH6500AWW

HELP!
 
It has been 4 years since I have replaced the door boot on a Neptune Front loader. Do any of you'll have any tips on stretching the spring on the rear Clamp, I don't recall it being this heavy and far of a stretch.  I will do the duets all day long.
 
The worst part of this is, this my wifes machine and I'm have been threatened

Use a few inches of tape to hold the end of the cable in place.  Use vise-grips and both hands to stretch the spring and hook it to the cable.
