What's wrong with the refrigerator?

Hi AJ,

Will not cool, neither frige nor freezer. I replaced the OLP Overload Protector but that did not fix it. The compressor is humming and buzzing. The windings on the compressor have 9.7 ohms on all three. The compressor is not shorting to ground. I think the problem may be in the Inverter Board but I'm not sure.

How can I tell if the problem is in the compressor or Inverter board or where?

Sounds like the inverter board to me.

Thank you AJ and bigbuck! I am going to start a new topic and post this to see if anyone knows if there is a way to verrify for sure that it is the inverter board or not.

 The new post will get lock up, its not good to send 2 post for same problem,  aj sent you the service manual via pm it should give you testing point for the inverter.  I believe you can only test the voltage going to the inverter.

Sorry about that guys. I thought it might be best to start one asking for help in the title to attract more attention.

Thanks again bigbuck for the advice. I will see if I can figure out these voltages for the inverter board. Also I forgot to mention that there was a power surge the day this frig quit working, lights went off then right back on.

This is my first time working on a frig so I really do appreciate the help!
