Maytag dryer noise

Maytag LDE7314ACE dryer making very loud CONSTANT rubbing/thumping noise only on first load. I will say the heat does not affect the noise because it goes away while drying the first load and does not come back. I went out when it wasn't used for several hours and took off the front cover and run the machine but could not hear any noises. We put a light load in it but still no noise. I tore the machine down and both rear rollers appear ok, left would spin 3 or 4 times with little effort and right would only spin 1 or 2 times but no noises and seemed ok, customer advised they were replaced about 1 year ago. Idler did not make any noises when manually spinning it. The plastic on the front drum bearings on the edges are almost worn down but not completely gone. I wouldn't think motor bearing because normally they get worse the longer the heat is on. Any idea what is causing this constant rubbing/thumping noise that only goes away towards the end ot the first load and does not come back?

i would replaced drum rollers & front two glides with ribet gun, see if that takes care of it. make sure blower wheel is ok.

I will probably try to replace the 2 front drum bearings first since the edges are almost worn out on them. I have a pair on the truck but they don't have rivets so I will take 4 with me and the gun. They have metal pieces that go through the hole then you just bend the tabs over to hold them in. I don't really like that design too much and think rivets are better. I will hold off on the rollers in effort of trying to save the customer some money. Customer stated they replaced about 1 year ago and even the black carbon washers looked new and not very brittle so I have to believe they probably were replaced. This rubbing noise was so loud that over the phone we knew they had a dryer problem when they first called us even before they said what it was. Haha.

never have seen the tabs that you bend over, allways seen the rivet type

Sounds like the old GE style glide installation. Are they FSP or generics?

The ones I have on the truck are generics. I keep a pair of generic and FSP but used the FSP and haven't restocked them yet.

they were maytag part, since whirlpool took over, they are fsp  AP4037304, not sure of the tabs that you bend over.
