OK here is my result; Parts ordered arrived in a crazy fast way via fedex ground less than 24 hours after placing the order online with APP. To APP I award a triple AAA+ for selling and delivery OEM parts.  The dryer motor is an FSP OEM part and it popped right in place with a however...

To Whirlpool and or FSP I award a DDD- due to the following issue; Although the motor is an almost perfect match regarding electrical connections and function the length os the shaft on the squirrell cage (blower side) is aproximately 2 mm too long!!!! The problem with a shaft being to long is ... any guess'?

Let me splain. Once mounted with blower wheel attached the exhaust vent assembly (you know the one with the lint filter in it) presses against the wheel impeding free rotation thereby creating friction which causes the motor to over work and also a lot of noise. 

Any ideas / experience with this? I currently have super glued 6 1mm thick washers (2 each behind 3 screws) to the motor mount cage behind the blower wheel (vent channell).

There are two different motors Whirlpool uses for the kemore dryers.....yours should be part number 279787.  Maybe they sent you a 279827 instead which is the motor used if the blower wheel is in the back of machine.

Have a parts book on my desk and the 279827 blower shaft is 1/8 inch longer than the 279787.  You need the 279787 which is the dryer with blower wheel in front of machine.

There are two different motors Whirlpool uses for the kemore dryers.....yours should be part number 279787.  Maybe they sent you a 279827 instead which is the motor used if the blower wheel is in the back of machine.

Great. that would explain it! The motor I received is 279827 which is what I ordered  and what came up on the click through from the original picture link posted here... The look the same and it is in and working so what's the harm given the other motor from APP is twice the price?

Try getting a switch from a used appliance shop.

Or try to get a used motor from eBay.

or help support our site and buy it from one of our appliance parts affiliates.

Joebeef is correct on the part number for your model.

I never looked up your model number before to see what motor it used.
I simply used the part number tgoods posted before me.

I don't believe tgoods looked it up either and he was just using a common part number for the whirlpool dryer motors in his post.

Anyway I can see where such a mix up could take place with that being the case. It's always best to use your model number to look up and order the correct part.

I have no experience with installing the other motor in a different model dryer like you did, but I don't see why there would be any safety issues with it.

If another tech knows of any safety issues with him using this motor in that model dryer please let us know.

On the bright side it is the cheaper of the two motors.

Hmm, I'll have to look at that option. Seems like the cage is prett rigid and there are 3 mounting screws for the squirrel cage. I am likely to stay with the wahers / spacers
