How to Replace the Balance Ring on a GE Washer

I need to replace the balance ring on an older GE top mount washer, model# WBSE3120B2WW, but am unsure about removal of the old part. It looks like ther are roughly 8 torx screws connecting the balance ring t o the inner tub. Do these screws need to be removed and then use a hammer to bang the ring off the tub?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

no hammer needed, take screws off, then should just lift off. balance ring part # is  AP2047568

Thank you for the response. When these leak do they tend to leave an oily sheen on the water and the sides of the basket?

i think so, does it have a hole in it?, once you pull it off, should be leaking or empty.
