Maytag Dryer MDE4806AYW

I just looked at this dryer. It starts and runs for 5-10 seconds and then shuts off. This is true on all cycles. It seems to me that the problem is a switch on the control board that is not holding under load. Any ideas?

Check for an open neutral. I put the leads on the cord at the block 220 outside terminals and start the dryer, watch the voltage when it quits. If it goes way up then open neutral. Also check the end of the cord going into the wall for burned wiring.

I tightened the terminals and checked the voltage as you suggested. It did not fluctuate. The cord looks good on both ends. I tested the components listed in the service manual and only found 1 that seemed out of range. The thermistor reads 14,000 ohms @60 degrees instead of 10,000 @ 72.  Would this cause it to shut down? Thanks.

With what you are describing it has to be voltage drop(failure of timer etc.) or a bad motor. Does it start right up after it quits ( push start button) or does it buzz and not start,or silent?

It starts right up. I tried to go into the service diagnostics and that wouldn't work. I've replaced the hi limit and the thermal cut-out.
It still does the same thing. The centrifugal switch seems to be working and the motor does not appear weak or sickly? Control board?

These boards have a motor relay, and heater relay.     I have had to change out the boards on three Duet dryers with this problem.   They all were the Motor Relay.  Brent@CanBC
