Got a similar problem here except I just installed a new element and have looked, tested and inspected all wires / connections for shorts to no avail. Dryer runs fine but heating element will not turn off if door opened or timer is in any position other than off or air dry? Is it possible to be the timer control unit? I did have a mishap with a short out when I forgot to unplug the unit before disconecting the feed to the high limit thermo whcih I also replaced as well as 250 the thermo? Also on another note the motor temp breaker keeps kicking out shutting down the cycle. I have cleaned all the rollers and everything else as well but I suspect this may be related to the heater element staying on and overheating the cabinet interior space?
I could but it's the same problem that needs a different solution?
Just because the element is new doesn't make it good. Take it off and check for a broken insulator, it has happened to me on couple occasions.
