Kenmore - Crushed Ice Only

Hello! I have a Kenmore side by side that will only dispense crushed ice.  My problem seems identical to the following thread, and looking at the schematic, my icemaker seems the same.

In the attached schematic, I can move piece 377 up and down manually (it is default in the up position, I can pull it down and it feels "spring loaded").  It does not seem to change position itself when I hold the door switch and change from crushed to cube and back.  The arm, part 329, sits just below part 377.  I'm not certain on what that interface should be doing to give me cubes (maybe pushing that arm down for cubes?)

So it sounds, maybe, like the solenoid is shot.  Is there any way you can think of to rig that arm to just provide us with cubes all the time instead of crushed (like permanently fix the arm in the down position).   Or does that work in conjunction with some other moving thing to give cubes and to affix it down permanently would give me constant cubes instead of just when I want them.  We NEVER use crushed and while the solenoid is only $50, I'd rather not spend it to get something we never use if there is another way.

How full is the ice bin? Sometimes dumping some ice fixes mine.

Better to replace the solenoid.

The ice bin arm does not go BELOW 377 it goes INTO 377.
