I have a batch of these dishwashers that are all doing the same thing. They get water but not enough. The other maintenance man keeps telling me that the valves are bad. But I don't buy it. . Besides he doesn't like to fix anything he labels everything BBR (broken beyond repair) and request new. I have taken some valves off and tested them with a digital ohms meter. I get a reading of 1.09. I also tested a brand new dishwashers valve and got a reading of 1.07-1.08. I have tried looking finding the resistance range on the internet but cannot. Like I said they are getting water but not enough. Its almost like the valve is have open. I have also check under neath the sinks and the shut off is open as well cleaned out the screens. the last one that I cleaned out the screen in worked good for about 3 days then started doing it again but only on the water saver mode...

Those valves are special. They are built for flow rate. Any generic water valve or a valve for a ice maker will not work. So if them valves have age on them they could have flow rate issues even if they still ohm out and still let water in. They could be clogged. Seen it.

You will either have a reading or have nothing if the coil is burnt out.

Being you already have a new valve in your hand I would install it and see if that fixes your problem. I think it will.

I would but it was still on a new dishwasher that ill be installing into a remodel tomorrow..I have 6 valves I pulled off of units that where going to be piched for remodel. Ill make sure there not clogged and try them individually to see if any of them are good to fix the broken unit... this just suck because the company wants us to figure it out because their to cheap to bring in someone but they wont give me the funds to get the new part unless I prove to them the part is bad.. lol. Thanks for your guidance.. you guys make my job less stressful.....

How's the plumbing and the water quality? Has the plumbing been disturbed by construction?

Check the float switch on these units. The float switch stops the water fill.
