Frigidaire Front loaders for tomorrows pick up
« on: January 10, 2012, 10:41:14 PM »
I'm picking up what looks like a nice set of three year old black Frigidaire front load washer/dryer set tomorrow for $100 bucks. Dryer needs element. Washer has unknown issue that started with a moving to another house and never worked again so they bought another set. Can't wait for this one. I have attached a pic.

Will do! She said something about it would start to fill, pause and and then the door would unlock? I'm curious cause she said it was fine before they moved it to there new house. I might get lucky and it's something simple. I know I can at least make my money back on the dryer if I decide to seperate them. ;D

Well I got them in. Dryer element is definetly shot. Rubbing against drum. Washer......hmmmm? Plugged in and tried spin only first, works fine? Now trying an empty load on normal cycle. Everything working good. Hmmmm? I wonder if they turned the spickets on after installing them in there new house? Lol! Well that's my guess so far? After this empty cycle I'm going to throw a load in.

Another great find!  Did you search Craigslist for these or are you acquiring them another way?  I got a front loader in as a trade in once.  The previous owner said it kept getting an f28 error.  I couldn't get it to error.  I end up only selling it for $100 with out a warranty.

Yes I get them on Craigslist but you have to act quick or there gone. The washer ran fine for a while and quit. I am uploading a video now. The hose from dispenser to tub was disconnected and started dumping water out on the rinse cycle. I believe the board is bad on this one. I attached some pics.

Just LOVE those Frigidare hose clamps! Had one a week ago, took 7 tries to get the tub to pump hose mounted and clamp in correct position.

I let it run on normal cycle after repairing the loose clamp, went upstairs for a few and when I went back down to check it the washer was off, with nothing lit up at all. The start button seems unresponsive. I did the spin only cycle on it once it reach high speed it dies down and the door lock light flashes for a few then quits. It seemed to working fine before it dumped water all down the side near the board. I immediately unplugged it when it happened to. Anyway here is the video I took on spin only mode.

Do you have the tech sheet? It should be taped to the top of the dispenser. Might want to check for any stored codes that could help pinpoint the problem.

I checked for stored codes and came up with E67 which is the water heater. Resistance check was ok. Going to check the wiring and ground next. I cleared the codes stored and I am watching in on Normal cycle now. Running fine on Cold temp. Last night I had it on Hot. If wire are ok the I guess the heater control board has an issue.

After I fixed the loose top tub hose/fill hose from the dispenser, and I cleared the error code for the heater I have not had ONE issue with this washer. I ran the Sanitary Cycle twice, second with an Affresh tab, part # TJ120
I have also done SEVERAL loads of laundry in it with no further issues. None. I started on the dryer tonight replacing the element. Other than the rear bracket that holds the lid missing, which I just ordered, I should be done with this set tomorrow, minus the lid issue. O0  I may go ahead and order the stack kit for it? I believe it's already sold too. ;D
