Yes I do find replacing the element as a assembly more convenient than restringing them, but that's just me.

I seem to find that the cost to the customer is about the same, pay more for the assembly and less for labor or more for labor and less for the element...  saves my time to put in the assembly so I can get to the next job faster.

That frigidaire single strand restring is the simplest to do. The part even comes prestretched:
