Amana Fridge Part Question

Model: SXD25S2W
Have an appointment tomorrow morning with customer with this fridge and is not defrosting. 
APP's diagram shows a defrost timer & defrost control on diagram but only the control on parts list.
Repair Clinic shows both in parts list.
The control board is not available any more.  Does anyone happen to know if this unit has a mechanical or control board?  If it's a control board issue I don't want to charge the customer to say I can't get the part pay me when I already know I can't get it.  I will call before and let them make the decision just wondering if anyone know's.

I have serial #9711105755
I have never had to look up by mfg # is it on the same tag as model/serial?  Never seen a breakdown of model number on APP's like that before. 
What can I say, I'm not that bright
 I will not be able to get ahold of the customer till tomorrow.

Yes, should be on the same tag.

I tried a different lookup and found the same thing.  I'd go to the call.  It's most likely a bad defrost thermostat anyway.  The control board looks really simple.  It probably would be easy to repair if it turns out to be bad.

I agree, go on the call regardless.
Even if it's has the control board it could still be a bad heater or defrost thermostat that is causing the defrost problem.

Yeah, I agree.  If it is the board it's worth trying to repair it myself.  They don't make boards that straight forward anymore.
I'll let ya know what it turns out to be.
