Kitchenaid Washer Leaking
« on: April 10, 2008, 10:06:24 PM »
Model # KAWS750GQ1, this unit started leaking from the rear of the unit when doing a large wash load. After removing the cabinet, I noticed a sizable hole in the rear of the tub. It looks like the balance ring (which is normally mounted to the top of the spin basket) had come loose and began scraping against the side of the tub and finally wore through the rear of the tub, cracked the balance ring, and broke the tub ring. The customer had recently noticed a loud noise during the spin cycle, but was hoping it would fix itself and go away. Unfortunately to make this repair would have required several expensive parts, so the customer decided not to repair the unit. If you hear an unusual noise from your appliances, it might be a sign of a pending problem.
