Maytag dishwasher leaking at door

Hello,
my brand new, just installed Maytag dishwasher (mdb7609aww2) has a slow leak coming from the front right corner.  The plumbing lines are leak free.  The unit is level in every direction.  When I open up the door after a cycle has started the water level is just to the bottom of the heating element - and is even all the way around the unit.  The leak is a gushing leak, but a slow leak coming with drops coming from the door.  Is this unit known for leaking?  Any suggestions?  Thank you in advance.

Its under warranty ,have a technician check it out ..more likely a mis installed door seal .

Well, after some searching on the internet I stumbled across an article mentioning that dishwashers weren't necessarily meant to be run empty, so I decided to try that before I called a tech.  Once it was full, I ran it, and surprisingly no more dripping leak.  Is this common?  I've run it twice now with no problems, but I'll be keeping my eye on it.

Thats exactly right. The only time you should run it empty is when using a dishwasher cleaner
