Maytag Neptune MAH4000AWW Noise

Our Neptune is making an odd noise.  If we have a full, but not stuffed load, when the drum is spinning it makes a grinding/clicking noise about 1/4 of the turn.  When the load is out and we spin the drum by hand, we don't hear any noise.  I looked in the 3000 manual, checked the weight mounting bolts, the belt for flat spots, and I don't see anything hitting the cover.  I couldn't find the tension adjustment, it must be in a different spot then on the 3000.  The sound sounds like it might be coming from the motor.  Thoughts appreciated.

The noise could be coming from the rear tub bearing. You can remove the access panel on the back of the washer and then remove the pulley to get a look at the bearing.

The bearing is not made to be replaced by itself, but guys have done it.

Other wise your only option to repair the bearing is to replace the outer tube as it come with the bearing.
If you replace the bearing the support may also need to be replaced.
