I have a GE Free-standing Electric Range (JBS27) with some problems. The burners don't work and the clock display won't stay set. But the whole range now has some odd behaviors..
1 - The clock display shows nothing until you turn one of the knobs for a burner or the oven
2 - When a knob is turned on, the electrical system (the clock and oven light) will work, but will immediately shut off when a knob is turned off
3 - When the oven knob is turned, the clock display flickers
4 - The burners and the oven don't get hot (nothing)
I've checked that the oven is plugged in. The breaker appears to be fine (didn't trip) but I reset it anyway. All of the burners are plugged into their receptacles snuggly. I even reoriented them all in their sockets after spraying contact cleaner in them. This happened all of a sudden with no apparent power failures in my home. The range is receiving power, because the clock light and oven light will turn on if I turn a knob, but for some reason the control system (maybe ?) is not sending power to the burners or the oven. Any thoughts?
