whirlpool intermitent F/H code
« on: August 19, 2011, 08:08:09 AM »
My whirlpool duet washer will get the F/H code.  It used to be fixed by cleaning out the screens and then that did not work.  I replaced the water valve assembly and the pressure switch.  It worked for two loads and then on the third the F/ H code came back.  Running it through the diagnostic test , it would only go to C1 and then the F/H error code.  This morning I tried the diagnostic test and it went through completely.  My wife is doing a load of laundry and it is working as expected.  What should I look for if this error code comes up again. Could this have something to do with the dispenser drawer?   Is it more likely the flowmeter , CCM , or something else? Thanks in advance for your help.

Not yet.  The washer will work perfectly for a few loads and then the f/h code will come back.  I would wait for a few days then it would work again.  Just yesterday when the f/h code came on I shut off the power at the breaker and then turned it back on .  The washer continued where it left off and worked fine for the next two loads which was all I had to do.  Does this give a clue to what the ultimate problem is?  Any help would be appreciated.

It's probably the flow meter.  Make sure the flow meter is level. By level, I mean the paddle wheel needs to be vertical.  If it is level and you still have the problem, replace it.

As time went on the wife noticed water under the washer.  I found that the dispenser water inlet was cracked.  I repaired it with some epoxy and so far no more problems.

Good to know, glad you found the problem.
Can't say I have ever run into that before.

Thanks for the update and posting the photo.  O0
